I usually like to listen to an album once and write down what I think as more of a light overall consensus. This time around, I listened to the Album and started it over again. Every void is filled with capturing the less is more attitude of clarity. This album pleasantly embraces everything I love about southern rock mixed with the 70’s feel of the Allman Brothers to the groves of Little Feat. Tony Perrino nails this one capturing the sweet tones of Jared’s relaxed southern phrasing. They could not have made a better choice of musicians to play along as well. Kristine Allman-Web sings on the third tune “ Cold, Cold Heart “. Set just in front of Jared’s guitar and B3 she captures the essence of the pure southern soul we all long to hear on an album with the influence of such tranquil tone. “ Be nice to the Tiger “, one of my favorites, is a freedom of expression jam that captures a straight pattern backbone allowing the boys to do what they do best by grooving right along. This tune allows Tony Perrino and Jared to talk back and forth through percussion and the ole’ swirling B3, something that really capture the excitement of such a young talented and gifted musician. I have many more thoughts on this album but leave it to you. I highly recommend Jared’s first album and can’t wait to see his creativity flow into another.
